For New Years Eve at my new house my family hang out in the backyard to watch the fireworks that surrounded us, then the most amazing thing happened... lanterns started floating by! We watched hundreds of lanterns float on by and it was a truly beautiful sight that entranced my preteen daughter because of her love of everything Japanese.
